How is the monitor ID assigned when a new script replaces an old one?

Solution

When you replace an existing script by uploading a new or edited script from the Dynatrace Recorder, the replacement script takes the old monitor ID and the old script is assigned a different monitor ID.

For example:

  1. A script named "A Test" is uploaded to the Dynatrace Portal and assigned the monitor ID 1234567.
  2. You create a new script named "B Test".
  3. You use the Save (remote) command in the Recorder to upload the new script to the Dynatrace Portal, using the Replace existing script option and selecting "A Test" as the script to replace.
  4. The monitor ID 1234567 is reassigned to the script "B Test". The script "A Test" is assigned a new monitor ID, 2468369.
