The bandwidth of computers on which Last Mile and Private Last Mile are hosted may vary, affecting the test response time. As a result, the bandwidth of each computer is tested before and after each test run, so the data for every computer can be accurately placed into a specific bandwidth category.
This pre- and post-test bandwidth testing is done by accessing a random object, which is hosted at a third-party provider (this is a timed download for calculation purposes only). We calculate the current machine bandwidth by averaging the results of the pre- and post-test. The data collected for the test transaction is then placed in one of the bandwidth buckets:
To view the Machine Average kbits/sec on a test, follow these steps.
- In the Dynatrace Classic Portal, create a chart for the Last Mile or Private Last Mile test.
- Double-click one of the data points in the graph, represented by a small square. A new dialog box appears.
- In the Data Summary section of the new dialog box, the Machine Avg kbits/sec column displays the average of the pre- and post-test bandwidth for every machine assigned to the test.
