Solution

Trace Route on Error (TRoE) is a part of the Screen Capture on Error (ScoE) feature. TRoE runs whenever a test page fails because of a network error, without downloading any objects.

Network errors might include:

  • Server Response Missing Status Line (10001)

  • Network Reset (10052).

  • Socket Connection Reset (10054)

  • Connection Refused (10061)

  • Connection Timeout (11005)

  • Socket Receive Timeout (12000)

  • Unknown Connection error (19999)

You can configure Last Mile, Private Last Mile, and Mobile tests to include Trace Route on Error.  For Backbone tests, TRoE is included in Screen Capture on Error.

You can configure TRoE when you create or edit a test. When you edit a test, the configuration option is in the Basic Settings tab.

  •  Backbone – Select On for the Screen Capture on Error (SCoE) option. Trace Route on Error is included in the SCoE.
  • Last Mile – Select Trace Route on Error for the Set Trace Route option.
  • Private Last Mile – Select Trace Route on Error for the Set Trace Route option.
  • Mobile – For tests that run on the Mobile carrier network, select Screen Capture on Error (SCoE); as with Backbone tests, TRoE is included in Screen Capture on Error. The option for tests that run on the Backbone or Last Mile network is the same as for those test types.
