Solution

Tests do not always appear in the Status Report section on the Start Page of the Dynatrace Classic Portal. Tests may appear for a period of time, disappear, and then appear again at a later time.

The Status Report section displays test results for the past hour. If a test did not run within the last hour, it will not appear in Status Report. A test may not appear if one of the following is true.

* The test frequency is greater than 60 minutes:

For example, if the test frequency is 90 minutes and the test last ran 70 minutes ago, the test will not appear in Status Report until it runs again in 20 minutes.

To review the test frequency, perform these steps.

  1. Select the Admin tab.
  2. Click Add/Edit Backbone Tests.
  3. Move the test to review to the right box, and then click Edit.
  4. Click to check Page Objects and Frequency, and then click Continue.
  5. Note the test frequency.

* The test maintenance window is scheduled during the past hour or more:

For example, if a one hour maintenance window has been added to a test and the start time is 30 minutes after a test last ran, that test will disappear from Status Report 30 minutes into the maintenance window. The test will not appear in Status Report again until the maintenance window ends and the test runs again.

To review the test maintenance window, perform these steps.

  1. Select the Admin tab.
  2. Click Add/Edit Backbone Tests.
  3. Move the test to review to the right box, and then click Edit.
  4. Click to check Maintenance Window, and then click Continue.
  5. Note the maintenance window.

* The test nodes selected for data collection are inactive:

For example, if the test is configure to use a single node and that node has been set to inactive due to Synthetic Monitoring maintenance or a service interruption, the test will not appear in Status Report until the node is set to active and the test runs again.

If the test is configured for multiple nodes and at least one of those nodes is active and testing, the test will appear in Status Report.

To review the test nodes selected for data collection, perform these steps.

  1. Select the Admin tab.
  2. Click Add/Edit Backbone Tests.
  3. Move the test to review to the right box, and then click Edit.
  4. Click to check Nodes, and then click Continue.
  5. Note the node listed under Nodes selected for data collection.
  6. If the node name includes an asterisk (*), the node is currently inactive.

Note: If node has been set to inactive due to Synthetic Monitoring maintenance or a service interruption, a service notification will be posted on the Support page in the Dynatrace Classic Portal.
