Description

The Download package includes the dtant.jar library that implements several tasks to be used by Ant scripts. Furthermore a sample build script is included.

As a prerequisite the dynaTrace Command Line tool must be installed.

  1. Save the attached file
  2. Unzip the file
  3. Copy the dtant.jar to the <dthome>/tools/lib directory
  4. View the extracted sample dtant.xml file. It shows how you can define and use the dtant task in your Ant scripts

Usage

You have to define the dtant task in your build scripts like this:

The following options can now be used in your Ant scripts:

 	 Usage:
	 <dtant userName="" passWord="" [hostName=""[:portNumber=""]] [ssl=""] option="" [dthome=""] [verbose=""]/> 
	 
	 userName                                  specifies the username to log in with 
	 passWord                                  specifies the password to log in with 
	 hostName                                  specifies the hostname of the server 
	 portNumber                                specifies the port of the server's webservice 
	 ssl="true|false"                          specifies whether the communication is encrypted - default = false 
	 verbose="true|false"                      provides provide a more detailed output (in case of errors) 
	 dthome                                    specifies the home directory of the dynatrace installation 
	 Where option includes: 
	 option="startserver" [startservice="true|false"]
	       startup server 
	       startservice prevents the server from starting as a windows service - default = false 
	 option="restartserver"                    restart server 
	 option="shutdownserver"                   shutdown server 
	 option="listcollectors"                   lists connected dynaTrace Collectors 
	 option="listagents"                       lists connected dynaTrace Agents 
	 option="displayserverstatistics"          display server statistics 
	 option="displayserverstatisticsbrief"     display brief server statistics 
	 option="restartcollector" collectorName="<collectorName>" 
	                                           restarts the collector with name <collectorName> 
	 option="shutdowncollector" collectorName="<collectorName>" 
	                                           shuts down the collector with name <collectorName>

	 profileName                               specifies the name of the system profile on which the option should be executed 
	 userName                                  specifies the username to log in with 
	 passWord                                  specifies the password to log in with 
	 hostName                                  specifies the hostname of the server

	 ssl="true|false"                          specifies whether the communication is encrypted - default = false
