Connection Section

Type the machine name of the Agent Manager. If you experience connection problems, you may need to provide the fully-qualified name of the Agent Manager machine.

The port number (by default, 9014) of the Agent Manager. Click Test to validate the machine and port.

Customize the Port and the Secure Port by modifying the WebServer.xml file for the Agent Manager. For more information, see Modifying an Agent Manager's Ports.

Secure Port

Used for Agent-initiated communication, the Agent Manager's secure port. By default, 9015. If a different port number is used, specify it here. See the Note above in the description for Port.

(Optional). Select a “parent” Agent Manager, if there is one, for this Agent Manager. By default, the value is set to <None>.

For scalability, Agent Managers can be implemented with a hierarchical structure so that child Agent Managers report to a designated parent Agent Manager. All data collected by a child Agent Manager is propagated up to its parent Agent Manager and stored in the parent Agent Manager's database. For more information, see Deploying a Parent and Child Agent Manager Hierarchy.

Proxy server

The Agent Manager's proxy server. By default, the value is set to <none>. Select an existing proxy server, add a new server, or set this option to <none>.
