Solution

Java memory usage customization on the Private Last Mile can be needed in order to successfully execute large transactional step tests and/or transactions with large file downloads.

Gomez Client Services recommends confirming this by the following these steps:

  1. Enabling DEBUG under the Kernel Logging section of the Preferences under Options tab in the Private Last Mile UI.
  2. Reproduce the problem.
  3. Inspect the Private Last Mile Kernel Log – found under the View Kernel Log under Options tab in the Private Last Mile UI – for some string with the following message “java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space�.
    • If this message is not found the transactional failure issue could be a result of another problem and we suggest submitting a Gomez Client Services support case. When doing so please supply a detailed description of the problem, the transaction effected, Kernel log, and any other prevalent information that is necessary.
    • If the message is found customization of the Java memory usage of the machine can be adjusted through the Java Memory Settings, found under the Options tab in the Private Last Mile UI.
