Information:

Environment

  • Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) - RFC 2560
  • Certificate Revocation List (CRL) - RFC 3280
  • IE browser 7 (not WinXP) Win Vista and up
  • FF browser 3.5
Symptoms

OCSP and CRL:

The difference in behavior for FireFox vs the Internet Explorer is that Firefox, by default, checks OCSP and CRL's to determine a certificate's validity. IE supports OCSP BUT, by default, only checks CRL's and NOT OCSP.

So consider this browser behavior when understanding how the Gomez Browser Agents behave as they are to mirror the behavior of the actual browser.

Solution

FireFox:

If you have an FF version 3 and above installed on your machine, open up a tab and type: about:config > "enter" > this will lead you to the browsers default configuration settings search for OCSP and you will find a preference name by the following:
Security.OCSP.enabled

1=enabled
0=disabled

Firefox enables OCSP by default.
