Page timeouts for the Dynatrace Recorder

  • conn_timeout – Total time, in seconds, for the Browser Agent to establish the TCP connection
    Page timeout: 25 seconds

    Script timeout: 25 seconds
  • soft_deadlineMaximum seconds of transaction or page response time before the transaction is considered a failure
    Page timeout: 60 seconds
    Script timeout: 180 seconds
  • hard_deadline Maximum seconds of transaction or page response time before the transaction is considered a failure and is interrupted
    Page timeout: 90 seconds
    Script timeout: 240 seconds
  • read_timeout Number of seconds to wait while reading data from a socket.
    Page timeout: 40 seconds

    Script timeout: 40 seconds

The difference between soft_deadline and hard_deadline is that the transaction or step does not stop when it meets the soft_deadline threshold, meaning it will still download objects after the threshold it met. The transaction or step stops immediately when the hard_deadline is met.

The timeouts don't vary according to the protocols (HTTPS) the site is using.
