Installing the dynaTrace Agent

To install the dynaTrace Java agent on Linux you will need a Java runtime available to execute the installer. Copy the agent installation file to the monitored host and run the installer within the destination directory (e.g. /opt) with the following command:

Also make sure that the user your application server will run with has read/write permission for this directory structure.

To install the Java or .NET agent on Windows platforms execute the agent installation MSI file and optionally specify the install location.
