login REST api

I am looking for rest api to provide me user credentials to login to dynatrace saas. Meaning, I want to provide an integration of dynatrace with my product. This is in such a way that, i will provide an icon of dynatrace there. and the user will automatically redirect to the dynatrace console and skip the login step. For this I am planning a authentication in my product first. First the customer comes to my integrations page and then links his account with some type of authentication. Now, What is that authentication. Some please help.

Hello Narravule,
I think you could be interested in SSO solution, here are some explanation about how to use it in managed

OpenID https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/setup-and-c...
SAML https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/setup-and-c...

Is this is what you are looking for, you will be able to use it in SaaS also. Having SSO in Dynatrace SaaS should be available in short term.

Best regards

Hi Rodrigo,

I am not quite sure you understood my query. I mean to say that I need a one time integration with dynatrace in such a way that I can skip login every time. I will establish an authentication with token or session id with dynatrace. Let me explain you the usecase. I am a cloud management platform with cloud cost analysis. I have some customers that use dynatrace. So, I want to give them an integration there. Say, the customer first integrates with dynatrace with maybe a token or some other way of authentication. what this authentication means is that now we are a secure entity and the connection between us and dynatrace has been established. Now customers login into my platform, then clicks on the dynatrace icon, and this will take them directly to their saas console. skipping the login process. so i need the rest api's for 1. generating a token(Can be done manual too) 2. api for skipping the login process.

Thanks

Actually i agree with Rodrigo. API cant be used for what your requirement is SSO is the way forward.

Dynatrace API does not let you create session for browsing portal or any other API i don't think so. the way forward is SSO.

Never mind, can you send me any SSO docs. I mean, Docs for ssoing into dynatrace from my platform. All i can see here is to setup dynatrace sso integration from dynatrace. Something that tells me what parameters i would need to ssoing into dynatrace from my platform?

This is much complex than docs as this SaaS not managed environment. So its best you talk with support in getting that integration enabled.
