Migrating Email-Notification to Workflow

Been thinking of start planning for how to migrate Notification+AlertingProfile to Workflow (since now we already have the option of setting problem-delay in workflow finally!) later on, by creating some automation script.

But then two questions comes into my mind:

1. Seems like the number of workflow later won't be the same as number of notification right? I think the number of workflow needed later would be same as the number of alerting-profile's rules, any thought from the dear community member here? (Refer to diagram below to see my thoughts)

2. And how to handle the management zone if it is used in alerting profile? Any place or config in workflow that I can used managementZone and/or securityContext?

Hi,

If you are thiking about workflows for notifications, you need to remove alerting profiles or management zones from your mind. Just this:

Event category (Availability, Error, Custom...).
Affected entities (filtering by tags).
DQL custom filter https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/shortlink/dql-matcher-openpipeline

You are using before rules to define which problems are matching that workflow.

Keep in mind cost free workflow must have 1 step only, something as that:

More complex workflows, with more steps, are not cost free.
