How to turn Metrics into Dashboards in Dynatrace

Hi,

I have a requirement to create a metrics and use these metrics to create a dashboard. can someone please help me out on this?

I could see the below multiple options to create a Metrics in Dynatrace. Which "Metric Creation" option should I use to turn the Metric into Dashboard?

1. Settings->Anomaly Detection->Metric Events
2. Settings->Log Monitoring -> Metric Extraction
3. Settings->Server-side Service Monitoring-> Calculated service Metrics
4. Setting -> Metrics

Settings->Anomaly Detection->Metric Events - this is really for alerting by in large and not for dashboarding

other than that, It really depends on where you have made the calculated metric, and then finding that new metric as per what you named it in the data explorer, which you can then make a graphical representation of the data as you see fir to pin to a dashboard.

Thank you for the info Chad.

I have added the below Metric “log.Global_txnRef_ID” from “Data Explorer” and I am trying to turn it into “table format” to create a dashboard, But when I run the Query, the results aren't showing in tabular format. Can you please let me know if you have any idea?
