Dynatrace Managed installation failed with error: Failed to start Nodekeeper

Hi All,

I already to install Dynatrace Managed with installation source that was downloaded earlier, but the installation process is failed with error like this : "Installation of Nodekeeper failed with error: Failed to start Nodekeeper, error: Redirecting to /bin/systemctl start dynatrace-nodekeeper.service"

I attached log

Anyone please can help me ? whats wrong with installation process ?

Hard to tell here. Are you maybe running SELinux? Also See "systemctl status dynatrace-nodekeeper.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

anyway, I recommend opening a support ticket to get it solved properly.

Yes SELinux is running
This is capture from "systemctl status dynatrace-nodekeeper.service"

And this is "journalctl -xe"

I’d recommend turning selinux into permissive mode or disabling it.

@holst disable selinux or set it to permissive mode. I also recommend to uninstall Dynatrace Managed if it's the first-time installation. Please don't forget to unregister it from the mission control - there is a cmdline flag for the uninstall.sh script and rerun the installation. Your license may be already locked in mission control.

If you need selinux in enforcing mode for any reason, you can also install semanage and run the following (/xxx is the installation path of Dynatrace Managed in this example):

semanage fcontext -a -t usr_t "/xxx" semanage fcontext -a -t usr_t "/xxx/.*" restorecon -R /xxx

How did you resolve this? Even I am facing the same issue "Failed to start Nodekeeper". It's a first-time installation.

Solution provided by @jullam should solve it.

However, new installation since 1.222 (https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/whats-new/release-notes/managed/sprint-222/) should apply these commands automatically.
