Cassandra or Elasticsearch backup rerun in case of a fail

Is it possible to rerun the cassandra or elasticsearch backup if it failed at night?

As far as I know, the solution provided there is still valid:

If a restored machine has same IP it might work. However this is not a supported solution. The only one that is supported is to follow restore procedure here:

Back up and restore a cluster

as you see there are additional steps required that are not done when restoring from a snapshot
