We need the steps required to add cluster Activegate to Dynatrace managed to support external web monitoring. Can anyone help please.

Hi @mahsahoo,

To support external agentless RUM, mobile RUM or public synthetic, you’ll need the following (in simplest terms):

A dedicated machine (VM) inside the DMZ. Check hardware requirements here: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/shortlink/activegate-requirements-linux
A public IP address routable to the VM and valid SSL certificate, as described here: https://docs.dynatrace.com/managed/shortlink/managed-deployment-scenarios#scenario-2-pure-dynatrace-managed-setup (be sure to read this article carefully).

As with anything that is public facing, you want to carefully plan and document everything. For example, maybe you want to put the cluster AG (or a pair of them) behind an LB? Maybe you want to terminate SSL on said LB, in which case you’ll need additional configuration on the AG - check here: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/shortlink/sgw-configure#com-compuware-apm-webserver.

If you wonder what real world people do, we do exactly this. A pair of Cluster AG's behind a LB and terminate SSL on the LB.
