topic Upgrade OS cluster in Dynatrace Managed Q&A

Hello everyone,

Our customer is currently running Dynatrace Managed on an unsupported Red Hat Enterprise Linux version. We are planning to upgrade the operating system from RHEL 8.7 to RHEL 8.10.

To avoid any data loss, we intend to perform the upgrade node by node.

My questions are:

Has anyone already performed an OS upgrade in this context and confirmed that Dynatrace Managed continues to work correctly afterward?

If so, could you please share the recommended approach or best practices?

While reviewing the documentation, I noticed that RHEL 8.10 requires the manual installation of the libcrypt.so.1 library from the libxcrypt-compat.rpm package. Based on this, after the OS upgrade and reboot, we would need to stop the Dynatrace services, install the required library, and then start the services again.
Could you please confirm if this understanding is correct?

Thank you in advance for your help.
Salma
