Dynatrace Managed long-term metric details

Hi Team,

Please help us to get details on Dynatrace long-term metric collection. We want to know the duration of metric collected , What all configuration option available to increase the retention of keeping these metrics. Alerts will be retain for how many days in the Managed?

Hi,

We retain all events and problems for an unlimited period of time so far. It can be changed in the future to drop multiple year old ones but there is no explicit plan for that right now.

Concerning metrics we retain following resolutions:

Dynatrace does retain your data for years. It depends on the type of metric but the default retention strategy for long term persisted metric timeseries is 1 minute resolution for the first 2 weeks, then aggregated to 5min resolution for 28days then 15min, 1hour resolution for 400days and finally 1 day resolution for 5 years.

Is there an estimate of how many days can be stored with the recommended configuration for Long-term Metric Store Medium size, as indicated in the following link:

Understanding that it is an approximation since it depends a lot on each deploy
