topic How to differentiate production and testing environment (host or data) in oneagent? in Open Q&A

Hi

Could you please help with answers to the below questions?

1. For instance, in AppMon, we can differentiate or view data of either production or staging by system profile i.e, for production we created y_production and for stating y_Staging. By selecting Y_Production we can view the production data and production infrastructure.

Could you please explain how we can achieve the above in Dynatrace Oneagent?

Since, there is no profile concept in Oneagent, we do not understand how to differentiate production environment and stating environment.

Thanks&Regards

Srinivas

Hello

In Dynatrace you can you 3 way for you task:

1. Dynatrace has a similar concept to the system profile - it is your Envirovment. This is the environment where your agents are connected. You can create several for each of your environments.

2. Management Zone - it is global filter for you Dynatrace Envirovment. you can divide your zones in the same environment

https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/how-to-use-...

https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/how-to-use-...

3. Also good feature - Host Group. This feature allows you to divide your hosts into groups. It is very convenient in large environments.

https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/how-to-use-dynatrace/hosts/configuration/organize-your-environment-using-host-groups/

Also my advice using various tags
