this is currently not possible. is it possible to capture the necessary info as a argument value of a method instead?

other than that it sounds like a valid RFE to decode base64. Json parsing is more expensive but we could think about it. please report it as an RFE

Hi, I have a customer using Dynatrace Managed who have applications that
contain a JSON payload of useful context information, however this payload is
base64 encoded to ensure it is safe for transporting in a header. Can
Dynatrace decode these values and capture parts of this JSON payload, or does
it just support key/value pairs in headers?
