Summary: This thread explains how to configure Dynatrace synthetic monitor-based uptime monitoring. It describes alerting setup and best practices for tracking service availability.

Hi Team,

Is it feasible to monitor system uptime on Windows servers using DT?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, no.

You can rely on these others topics for reference:

https://community.dynatrace.com/t5/Dashboarding/Is-there-anyway-to-chart-uptime-of-a-server-in-Dynatrace/m-p/121549#M1201

https://community.dynatrace.com/t5/Synthetic-Monitoring/Setting-up-uptime-monitoring/m-p/20987#M1122

You can use some custom metric ingestion to make it happen as well.

Looks like from the version 1.263, we're able to get this metrics "uptime" on all servers (AIX, Windows and Linux)... no need to take the complex route of implementing this monitor..
