Using tags you will get rid of complex queries to maintain.

It is easier to include/exclude an entity to tags than edit a complex metric expression.

I'm setting up a metric event based on a custom metric and I need to exclude multiple entities. When I attempt to add multiple entities, I get an error "Entity filter contains multiple filters of the same type 'NAME'". Is there a way to add multiple named entities to the filter to exclude them from the events?

What if you use a common tag between these entities and use it as exclude rule?

That's what support also suggested. I was just hoping there was a away exclude a list of entities that have dissimilar names without tags. The services aren't tagged for me to filter on. It sounds like I have to come up with a strategy to tag them to create the filter.
