Does Span Attributes have the same Retention period as Distributed traces (10 days default)? It is not stated in the docs.

Greetings,

Although not clearly stated on the Documentation (maybe someone from Dynatrace could give a clearer insight on this one?), my understanding is that Span Attributes are either considered "code level insights" or part of "Opentelemetry Traces": both have a 10-day retention period.

However, if that is an issue, maybe you could create a Request Attribute that uses a Span Attribute as its source: this way, you leverage the 35-day retention period that comes with Request Attribute and are able to graph your data for longer.

@Islam_Zedan explains how on his reply to a similar post.

Hope this helps! 🙂
