Good morning all,

In settings 2.0, what happens with my setting objects when Dynatrace modifies a schema?

Could this result in a notice in the release notes that you have to upgrade objects the new schema, is there a grace period for the old version? Who knows, and what kind of activities can I expect if this happens?

KR Henk

Hi @henk_stobbe , that you wonder what's happening shows that so far all such changes have been seamless for you 🙂

To your question: Your configuration data is safe. For schemas delivered with the platform or platform apps, we're able to repair the data in a non-breaking manner. External data in the old format (e.g., managed via Monaco) is usually also compatible because we know the old and the new schema and can repair accordingly.
There are very rare cases when the old data (or rather the API) would truly break, but we will notify you then via the release notes.

best, Michael
