Am I correct in thinking there is no way in Dynatrace to push tags from the host level down to the extension levels for setting up the likes of maintenance windows? We have different patching cycles depending on the environment (SB, DV, PY, QA, PD, etc) and see a lot of false alerting due to the extensions triggering alerts.

I'm trying to solve an issue where we have the hosts in a maintenance window for patching, but that doesn't stop the various extensions from alerting.

I'm currently working through this issue using a workflow to push down the specific tags from the parent (host) to the likes of MS SQL, IIS, etc.

Hi,

You can create tagging rules, using entity selector, to propagate host tag to child entities.

Since tagging rules will be deprecated under Grail 3. It is being discussed in this thread.

Best regards
