New dashboard json schema?

Hi!

I cannot find anything about the new document (dashboard) json schema anywhere. Also I have found that the terraform validate pretty much accepts whatever valid json i provide within the content key in the terraform resource.

Would it be possible to share the json schema for dashboards somewhere?

Hi @tarjei_statkraf

There is no publicly published formal JSON Schema file for the new Dashboards app document format.

What does exist is narrative documentation of the structure at: Dynatrace document structure - Dashboards — Dynatrace Docs

But this is prose + examples, not a machine-readable schema which is why Terraform's validate accepts any valid JSON inside content: the provider treats it as an opaque string and does no structural validation against a schema.

Best practical ways to discover the schema today - Export an existing dashboard via API (most reliable) or use the Terraform provider's export utility or Monaco export
