Will we need two one agents installed on the same host if the box hosts both the appserver and webserver?

In case we assume that the webserver and the app server are hosted on the same box in pre-prod environment, will we be needing 2 agents on the same host, or is there a way to use the same agent to detect and measure the performance of both the components?

Hi Rangapriya,

Only one OneAgent is enough for a single server. It'll detect all the running processes in that particular host. I have the same setup in my environments.

You can use Dynatrace custom variable DT_PGName (Process group detection) within your appserver and webserver processes to keep the name as you like to view in Dynatrace.

Or you can create new rule in Process group naming to show the process name as you like view in Dynatrace.
