Thanks! Yeah the firewall rules are fine, I meant monitoring executed from ActiveGate towards the monitored servers - e.g. synthetic monitoring, Oracle plugin, custom ActiveGate plugins, etc.

Hi,

We have the requirement to monitor a small set of targets (not supported by OneAgent) via Nagios. We are considering installing Nagios on the same host where we have an Environment ActiveGate, as they both can take advantage of the same set of firewall rules. Does anyone have any insight on how that would work, is it possible to have ActiveGate and Nagios running on the same server? Any known issues to be expected?

Will work without any issues. Just the ActiveGate port has to be free (9999/tcp by default) and the ActiveGate must have enough resources (RAM/CPU).

Just double check your firewall rules, since as far as I remember, Nagios connections are initiated from server to client. Dynatrace initiates connection the other way around (agent -> activegate -> server, or agent -> server).
