Does ActiveGate store data from OneAgent before forwarding to Dynatrace Server?

I would to know if ActiveGate usually store data before sending to Dynatrace Server and if data is uncrypted or protected in some way.

Hello @davide s.

ActiveGate works as a proxy between Dynatrace OneAgent and Dynatrace Server.

ActiveGate collects messages from OneAgent instances and builds bulks, which are then sent in compressed form to Dynatrace Server. Network overhead can thereby be considerably reduced—a 70% reduction can be expected.

Dynatrace doesn't allow you to upload dumps to the Dynatrace cluster in the cloud. Instead you should set up an ActiveGate and configure it to serve as a host for memory dumps.

They has to somehow because there alway can occure network problem and data should wait some time before expiration.
