Dynatrace has announced the ability to do ping, port checks, and DNS lookups:

https://www.dynatrace.com/news/blog/monitor-your-whole-infrastructure-using-synthetic-monitors/

It uses Activegate Extensions, but is positioned as synthetic monitoring.

Does anyone know if it consumes DDUs or DEMs?

Hi Antonio,

Third-party synthetic results (which is the API used) consumes 0.1 DEM units per measurement. This is the help page which has the information: https://www.dynatrace.com/support/help/reference/monitoring-consumption-calculation/#digital-experience-monitoring-

Mike
