Difference between SNMP Extension v1 and v2

What is the difference? And also can these two version exist together in my Dynatrace Managed? Or they are mutually exclusive?

About to explore on the SNMP extension, but what to know the difference between them before I start.

'cause scared that the effort goes into research would be wasted.

SNMP V1 extensions are based on implementing SNMP libraries in regular Python extensions.

SNMP V2 extensions are based on the completely new Extension Framework with declarative data gathering, generic entities, generic topology and new analysis screens.

You can run them both in the same Dynatrace environment.
