I am checking metric related to Oracle DB then encounter the metric file descriptor as I checked their percentage difference from last week so please help me understand the meaning of file descriptor any one please explain me this metric meaning find Dynatrace snap below.

Hi,

For Oracle databases, file descriptors are used to manage database files, log files, and connections to the database. This includes data files, temporary files, undo files, redo logs, and various network connections. A high number of file descriptors might indicate a high level of database activity or possibly an issue with file handling.
