What is the difference between a group and a subgroup in a 2.0 extension?

Hi guys,

What is the difference between a group and a subgroup in a 2.0 extension?

I am currently building a larger CMDB extension with MSSQL as datasource, and I see some differences in results testing switching between group and subgroups.

For example does subgroups expect to have the same dimensions?

Will the 25 dimensions per level (extension, group, subgroup) be reached by having 25 dimensions in total for subgroups of a group?

Metrics sent in from queries in a sub group will inherit the dimensions from the group. For example, if you have 20 dimensions in the group, you're limited to less dimensions on the sub groups belonging to that group.
