topic Oracle 11 monitoring in Extensions

Hello,

has anyone tried to remotely monitor Oracle 11 instances? Dynatrace Oracle extension doesn't work for this version as basic queries doesn't execute well (I have tried to execute several of them manually). Is there any ready to use solution or we need to create something own from scratch using extension 2.0 fw?

Thanks

Hello @rastislav_danis

As per Dynatrace hub, Oracle 11 isn't supported for the OOB solution, so it's better to build custom extension to pull the required metrics.

Oracle DB Monitoring Extension

Alternative solution

There is a built-in extension you can install, it should cover the unsupported version by the new oracle extension versions : custom-database-extension

KR,

Peter.

Thanks, Peter, i was aware that it's unsupported, but I never miss a try ;). Mentioned "built-in" extension is in fact SQL data source in ext 2.0 that can be used to create your own extension, so that's what i meant by from scratch. But thanks anyway.
Customer uses unfortunately oracle 11's and doesn't plan to migrate them any soon, so we will need to cover those with some sort of monitoring.
