That is still not available in the JMX data source in EF2. I looked into that specific release note and it looks like it was too generic and only applied to some metrics reported by the OS/host portion of OneAgent not the Java portion so it likely doesn't even effect EF1 either.

I'll forward that idea again to the relevant team to see if they can provide an update on it.

Retrieving PID as a Dimension in JMX Extension 2.0

Hello everyone,

While converting a JMX Extension from 1.0 to 2.0, I noticed that the previously defined dimensions, including rx_pid, were no longer available. I successfully reinstated the other dimensions but encountered issues with the rx_pid dimension.

According to the release notes for OneAgent 1.291, the rx_pid dimension should now be renamed to process.id. I assume this change applies to JMX Extensions 2.0 as well:

https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/whats-new/release-notes/oneagent/sprint-291#process-pid-dimension-should-be-named-process-pid

However, I couldn’t find detailed documentation on retrieving the PID in a JMX Extension 2.0.

I came across a related product idea on the community, but there hasn’t been any response yet:

https://community.dynatrace.com/t5/Product-ideas/Make-the-PID-metrics-dimension-available-for-JMX-2-0-extensions/idi-p/256301

Has anyone successfully included the PID as a dimension in a JMX Extension 2.0?

Looking forward to your insights!

Kind regards
