One Key feature from AppMon Business Transactions, which is still missing in Dynatrace, is the abillity to extract and chart business metrics.

Some cases are possible with request attributes, but other cases like e.g. charting the generated revenue of the application is not possible yet, which is a key feature for many of our customers.

Is there anything on the roadmap for this yet?

I have users who want to create something like a BT in managed, but I am not seeing a way to make anything using a uri like we do in appmon. I may be looking at this the wrong way as i am still new to the product.

Thanks,

Brian

I posted a similar answer on this question: https://community.dynatrace.com/spaces/482/dynatrace...

But in general most of the use cases for business transactions are done automatically out of the box, so you'll have baselining, alerting, and tracking of all requests and services without the need to configure these manually one by one. There is also the option to rename or define rules for these services that are detected plus you can specify key requests to give you more visibility, longer storage, and the ability to customize thresholds for SLAs: https://help.dynatrace.com/service-monitoring/server-side-services/what-are-key-requests/

So most of what you would use BTs for is done automatically and Dynatrace in general handles these differently.

James

You can also rename user actions based on rules and then make your most important user actions "key user actions" and put them on your dashboards.
https://help.dynatrace.com/user-experience-monitor...

Please check also this older blog post (section user actions at the end). The UI has evolved but the content is still valid.

https://www.dynatrace.com/blog/new-performance-ana...
