Can We instrument/monitor a native Mobile Application on "Dynatrace SaaS or Managed" when it comes to "Smart TV" ?

The "Smart TV" platforms the Customer´s Mobile Application is compliant with are these:

Samsung

Android TV (SONY and Philips)

Do you want to know if it possible to instrument a mobile App running on a mobile device that communicates with Smart TVs or if you can instrument a "TV App" running on the Smart TVs?

Hi Patrick.

My Client is a Broadcast TV Operator.

He has developed his own Mobile App for Android, iOS and Smart TV (for LG, Samsung and Android TV at the moment).

He has instrumented the Apps for iOS and Android and they are being monitored with Dynatrace no problems. I wanted to know if the Smart TV App running on a Smart TV device might be instrumented as well.

An Android TV application does only slightly differ from any other Android application. The only difference is that you have to provide the UI for the TV application. So the instrumentation should work fine.

Instrumenting non-Android-TV based TV aplications mitht be possible with OpenKit
