Custom Applications RUM on Grail

Hey,

what are the plans and timelines for Custom Applications RUM data to land on Grail? The new experience is available for Web and Mobile, as far as I could find. We are supporting a custom application - business-critical rich client application at global logistics company - and would like to build Dashboards for it based on Grail data.

Hi,

As of November 11, 2025, RUM data in Grail is officially available for the New RUM Experience on Web and Mobile. Custom Applications (OpenKit) are not yet supported in the New RUM Experience/Grail pipeline, and Dynatrace hasn’t published a public ETA for bringing Custom App RUM to Grail.

Right now:

You can send Business Events from OpenKit-instrumented custom apps and analyze them in Grail/DQL dashboards (this is supported for Web, Mobile and OpenKit). Use business events to model user journeys, KPIs and errors until full RUM parity lands.
For Web/Mobile frontends, enable the New RUM Experience to get user events in user.events (page summaries, XHR/fetch, errors, navigations, visibility, interactions) and build Dashboards/Notebooks on top.
