Dynatrace Android Gradle Plugin — AGP 9.0.1 Compatibility

Hi Dynatrace team, We're currently running Dynatrace Android Gradle Plugin 8.331.1.1004 (the latest available on Maven Central) and recently upgraded to Android Gradle Plugin 9.0.1. The build fails at configuration time with:

Android Gradle Plugin version 9.0.1 is not supported. Make sure to use the latest version of the Dynatrace
Android Gradle Plugin

We are already on the latest plugin version, so this appears to be a compatibility gap rather than a
version lag on our end.

Could you let us know:
1. Is AGP 9.0.x support on the roadmap, and if so, is there an expected timeline?
2. Is there a beta/pre-release build we could test in the meantime?
3. Is there a recommended workaround that preserves instrumentation while we wait?

Unfortunately Dynatrace was not able to release the support for the new Android Gradle plugin 9.0 on time with the official 9.0 release from Android. But the support for the Android Gradle plugin version 9.0 is part of the next Dynatrace Android Gradle plugin version (8.333), which will be released this week.

There is no easy workaround and therefore the recommendation is to wait until the new version is published. If this is not possible, you would have to remove the Dynatrace Android Gradle plugin and its configuration from the build and manually add the OneAgent for Android library, so the compiler can compile the manual instrumentation in the source code.
