Can we use external Credential Vault for Dynatrace Synthetic

Hello,

We are reviewing the Dynatrace Synthetic ActiveGates to see if it meets our requirement and a question was dropped - can we use external enterprise security vault versus using Dynatrace built-in vault for Synthetic monitoring? I understand it is currently not offered but is it on the roadmap?

Any pro's and cons using external vault?

Hello @mrc15816

Using the Dynatrace credential vault for synthetic monitors means that the Dynatrace is taking care of the security on the regular basis and keep enhancing regularly.
Using the external solution means that the customer should be responsible to meet their security-related objectives.
You can open an RFE to suggest an idea.

Dynatrace docs lists a number of external vaults that can be used in conjunction with Synthetic Monitoring now. Please see https://docs.dynatrace.com/docs/shortlink/external-vault-integration .

Yes, you can use these external vaults:

Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault, or CyberArk Vault
