Hello,

I can see the Synthetic Gateway can be installed either on Windows or Linux.

What is the asset of each solution ?

Windows solution seems to be the best solution to benefit of a fully automated Dynatrace upgrade, as I'm in an isolated network.

Please advise,

Gautier Bégin

Hi Gautier,

Yes, for isolated networks, Windows is often the simplest option.

Windows ActiveGates have Chromium packaged with the installer. They still require access to the Cluster, though, to download the Synthetic module.

For Chromium autoupdate, Linux ActiveGates require either a connection to https://synthetic-packages.s3.amazonaws.com to download Chromium or a link to a custom repo within your network, as well as access to the Cluster. You'll also need to provide access to repositories for the installer to get the necessary dependencies.
