NAM monitors address mainly Infrastructure use cases, answering questions like:

Is my remote host up and running?
Are my remote devices available through the network?
Are the network conditions good enough for communication?
Are the services running on remote hosts available, and can users connect to them?

However, I can easily imagine NAM for performing deeper RCA of failed execution of HTTP monitors. After discovering a timeout as a reason for HTTP monitor failure, you may use NAM to narrow down the problem to the area of, for example, the network or the host running your service or identify the service being down as a reason.
