Hi All,

I need your help, we recently had an issue with one of our apps, the captcha was not working on the web page and we want to ensure the captcha is working all the time.

Is there a way we can monitor the capture service is up using Dynatrace?

Captcha is designed to prevent robots/ Synthetic users from accessing an application. Since Dynatrace Synthetic fits this category we are unable to interact with Captcha. Are you just wanting to check that it appears? You could have a monitor that opened the page to check the Captcha was there.

As @HannahM referenced, getting a Synthetic monitor to bypass captchas is a pointless exercise, unless the Captcha service is really bad.

Seeing that it is working is a normal exercise though, and I have cases where we are detecting it, but stopping at that point. I have another case where a Bank sometimes ask for Captchas for their clients, but we have to manually get in once, to override the Captcha request.

Hi ,

we have a requirement to create an alert for reCAPTCHA failures leading to login issues in Dynatrace? Is it possible in both RUM and synthetic? could anyone please help?

Synthetic wouldn't be able to help here, as it can't interact with reCAPTURE. RUM would be a better option as you could monitor the login process, capture the errors, and alert on them.

Could you please explain with some example here why synthetic monitoring is not possible for Repatch failures and also you mention that it is possible by Rum, How we can configure that..Please suggest.

ReCAPTCHA is designed to prevent robots from accessing sites. Dynatrace Synthetic is a robot and so is prevented from accessing the site.

For RUM, you'll need to set up monitoring for the application and then examine the error settings.
