Where a private location synthetic active gate upstream its data

I'am installing Dynatrace synthetic active gate for private location and I wonder if it forward its data to the cluster active gate or directly to the DT cluster ?

If it possible can someone explain precisely how synthetic active gate for private location works ? which port does it uses for receiving and for sending back to activegate/DTcluster ?

Just for information I'am using the Dynatrace managed

you can find information on the ports used by the Synthetic Environment ActiveGate here and there is also some information connectivity schemes here.
