This tip might help you guys to understand how Dynatrace OneAgent works in its host. OneAgent has around 5 process that will run when it is working perfectly in your host. They are, Network, Watchdog, Monitoring, Plugin/Extension, Log Monitoring.

If you stop Watchdog process, it will terminate other monitoring processes except plugin/extension which makes OneAgent plugins that are installed will work on the host. However, all the communication between that host and the Dynatrace server will stop. This is because Watchdog is the process that is responsible for the communication between your host and AG/Dynatrace server.

Just to complement that they are different processes that can be seen in the list of processes inside each host Dynatrace is monitoring.
