Deletion of a certain application and impact on workflow

Is there a binding between an App and Workflow?
Once I delete a certain App (which provides a workflow action), is the workflow broken?

Workflow definitions are not automatically altered upon deletion of an App providing action. The workflow can still be executed. If a task requires an action that is no longer available, the task will fail with the appropriate error message.
