Hello everyone,

Has anyone tried integrating Dynamics 365 with Dynatrace, so that Dynatrace can pull the metrics/data from Dynamics 365? I could not find any documentation on this. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

unfortunately currently there is nothing out of the box or even any extension developed on this. You can raise and RFE for same and try to raise the exact requirement explaining the importance.

One way this could be achieved is developing a custom Active gate extension plugin using the Dynamics 365 rest api to pull in the required metrics and get ingested in Dynatrace.

Dynatrace and D365 may not be capable of direct integration, if you're open to the use Application Insight for the metric ingestion then it can be an approach you can try if it suits your requirement.

We come more and more across customers with relation to (cloud) Dynamics, so an extension of some sort and best practice how incorporate the service in Dynatrace would be helpful.

Has anyone found a way to use Dynatrace to monitor Dynamics 365 SaaS? I’m aware of a third-party extension that works well, but I’m specifically interested in a native Dynatrace solution.

There is a native extension called "Azure Application Insight" but it provides high-level metrics. I’m seeking specifically distributed traces since we develop plugins, communicate with other services and we need that end-to-end visibility.
