Hello

We have done integration with azure monitor, but it does not bring all the metrics that our client wants!

How can we integrate Dynatrace with azure api??

Which metric they need? Have you check Monitor other Azure services?

Some of the are:

For Cosmos db: Thoughoutput/Throughput Limit (per database/region), Service Availability

For Εvent Hub: Availability

For Azure SQL Database / Elastic Pools: Availability

We have not found them there Settings > Cloud and virtualization > Azure.

I believe the general idea is that if the default Dynatrace integration to Azure does not include the metric you'd like to pull from Azure, you'll need to create your own custom extension for that. This applies especially to any custom metrics on Azure side you might have. No generic "Azure API" extension by Dynatrace exists at this point, though I'd imagine there would be some customer need for it.

@nikosf89 generally each metric you can find in Azure Monitor is configurable in Dynatrace Azure integration. Can you provide a screenshot from Azure Monitor for the metric you are missing?

The built-in integration provides all metrics available in Azure Monitor and provided by Microsoft. Mostly you need to configure the particular Azure services in the Azure integration in Dynatrace and add the metrics you need.

Additionally, we have developed a Dynatrace Extension 2.0 scraping data from Azure using KQL and provide metrics or logs from scraped data in Dynatrace. This is useful if you require metrics or logs from Azure Application Insights for example, on top of the current ones. If anyone is interested, just reach out to me.

As highlighted most if not all Microsoft azure metrics are directly pulled from azure after applying the attached integration requirements : azure-monitoring-guide

For all Azure integrations and monitoring domains, feel free to visit and review : Azure

after successful integration > you can monitor more services and then all insights will be presented through the dashboard or if you need to tailor a dashboard as per customer requirements feel free to develop it.
