Hi Yasuo,

Dynatrace AWS integration (extension) gets the data from AWS CloudWatch. There are many interesting metrics for EC2 instances (list) out of which we chose the following:

CPU usage %

network received/transmitted rate

instance storage (read/write IOPS and read/write rate)

Memory utilization is not reported via CloudWatch. To have visibility of the memory usage you need to deploy OneAgent on a EC2 host. It will provide you the monitoring of the resources consumed by the processes running, dependencies to other hosts and processes and much more.

Best regards
Michal Nalezinski
Technical Product Manager

Hi All,

I am testing AWS integration of Dynatrace.

I finished AWS integration setting, but some EC2 instances do not show Memory information like a attached picture.

I think the reason is that these instances did not install OneAgent.

I understand most easy way is OneAgent installation. But some user want to monitor low priority EC2 instance without OneAgent.

So, is it possble to show the Memory information of AWS EC2 instance without OneAgent?

Best Regards,
Yasuo Ohnishi

Actually this dashboard is not related to oneagent. If you will instal OA you will have extra host and there you will se memory. Here is another case, because of some issue not all metrics are collected by dynatrace. Our EC2 instances does not have this metric as well. It is possible that API has changed and Dynatrace has to adapt. This metrics is not served via API at the moment, at least not in understable way for DT.

Sebastian
