Monitoring AKS Managed NGINX Ingress?

Hi there,

Our company is exploring switching from a helm chart deployment of nginx to using the application routing add-on with NGINX for our AKS clusters. When using the helm chart deployment, I could instrument the ingress pods by modifying the ConfigMap as detailed in this doc:

I can confirm that this method also works for the AKS application routing add-on, but since this is a managed add-on, Azure automatically overwrites the ConfigMap periodically, removing our ability to captures traces from ingress. We're using the latest Dynatrace Operator and cloud native full-stack, and I can even see the sidecar Dynatrace container when the nginx pod starts up, but no traces once the controller is fully online.

Has anyone found a way to instrument NGINX when using the AKS application routing add-on?
